David Bear

David has been litigating case in Florida’s courtrooms for more than a decade and has tried more than 50 cases to verdict. He is passionate about reaching the truth and vigorously representing his client’s best interests.

David obtained his JD from Florida State University and during law school worked for then U.S. District Court Judge Anne C. Conway and Governor Jeb Bush. After graduating, he decided to work at the Orange County State Attorney’s office both to give back to the community and gain invaluable trial experience. While there, David handled thousands of criminal cases including violent crimes, sex crimes, burglaries, schemes, vehicular homicide, RICO charges, drug sales, and traffic offenses. After three years serving the community in this role, David transitioned to private civil litigation practice.

Since leaving the State Attorney’s Office, David has worked at law firms as small as 10 and as large a 550 attorneys where he has litigated complex cases involving insurance coverage, property damage, medical negligence, personal injury, employment practices, medical liens, commercial disputes, breach of contract, and more. After handling thousands of cases within these firms, David determined that the case volume that was required to support the big law firm infrastructure prohibited him from providing the personal representation that his clients deserved. David decided that the best way to ensure that he was able to provide his clients the individual attention that their cases deserved was by opening Bear Legal Solutions.

David is licensed to practice in all Florida State courts as well as the Federal Middle, Northern, and Southern District Courts. David is held in very high regard by his colleagues and in 2015 Martindale-Hubbel® was able to certify him as AV Preeminent® rated based upon their Peer review RatingsTM. The Martindale-Hubbel rating is widely considered the gold standard in attorney ratings due to its objective methodology and is based on legal knowledge, analytical capabilities, judgment, communication ability, honesty, professionalism, and legal experience. David has also been rated as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers since 2012.

Outside of the Courtroom, David serves on the Judicial Nominating Committee (JNC) for the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida. In that capacity, he and the JNC panel investigate, interview, and evaluate applicants for open circuit and county court judicial seats. After their review, David and the Committee send a list of candidates to the Florida Governor for appointment. David is very active in his church, having worked with his wife as an instructor of their church’s baptism classes and as instructors for the teen confirmation program. David is also passionate about protecting our environment and serves on the board of directors of the local non-profit Save Rural Seminole. In that role, he often works with Seminole County government to ensure our local conservation goals are being met. David is also actively involved with a number of local businesses, including serving on the Board of a financial planning and investment company which manages over $2.2 billion dollars. David is a committed husband and a proud father of three young children.
